FERITA SANGUINANTE

Topic explanation

BLEEDING WOUND If the victim has a bleeding wound: If possible, place the injured person in a sitting or lying position while awaiting emergency services. Cover or apply a dressing with sterile material or the cleanest material available, applying pressure to stop the bleeding. Wash the wound with water only if it is contaminated with soil to prevent a possible infection. Avoid any manipulation of the injury. Do not remove any foreign objects embedded in the wound, as their extraction could worsen the haemorrhage; take great care not to push them further into the wound while applying the bandage.
