Privacy Policy

Data categories

• Account data: Email address and display name provided at registration. This is the name you entered when signing up, or the name on the Google or Apple account you signed in with. Other app users can see it (see section 3).
• Learning data: Quiz answers, chapter progress, test scores, and flashcard performance used to personalise your study path.
• Device data: Device type, OS version, app version, and crash reports collected automatically to improve stability.
• Exam result: Only if you tell us: whether you passed or failed your driving exam, and the exam date.
• Consent records: Whether you agreed to receive study emails or to appear in the recent graduates list, and when, where and to which wording you agreed.

Payments

Payments are processed by Apple (App Store), by Google (Google Play) or, for purchases on drivingfreedom.it, by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, Ireland). You enter your card or bank details directly with them, and they handle those details under their own privacy policies; we never receive or store your full card number.

To provide and manage your subscription we keep your email address, the plan and billing period, the subscription status and renewal dates, and the order and subscription identifiers that Apple, Google or Stripe give us. We use these data to give you Premium access, to let you cancel or manage your subscription, and to meet our accounting and tax obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Leaderboard (Rank tab)

The Rank tab shows other app users your display name, the avatar you chose, your level, your points (XP) and your position in the ranking. We do this because the leaderboard is part of the app and helps learners stay motivated (legitimate interest).

You cannot yet change your display name or hide from the leaderboard inside the app. To change the name that is shown, for example to a nickname or just your first name, or to object to appearing on the leaderboard, write to us at app.driving.freedom@gmail.com.

Recent graduates

After your exam date we may contact you to ask for your real exam result. Answering is optional. If you tell us, we store whether you passed or failed and the exam date, and use them to see how well the app prepares learners.

If you passed, we may ask whether you want to appear in the recent graduates list in the app. Only if you agree do we show other app users your display name, your avatar and the date you passed. We record when you agreed. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us, and we will remove you from the list.

Service emails

We send the emails needed to run your account and your purchases, such as account messages and payment receipts. These do not need your consent, and you cannot turn them off while you have an account.

Study emails

We send study tips, reminders and news about the app by email only if you agree. The box at sign-up is not ticked for you, and you can change your choice at any time in your profile.

Every study email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops study emails and does not affect your account.

For each choice we record whether you agreed or withdrew, when, where (sign-up, profile or unsubscribe link) and which version of the wording you saw. If you delete your account, we keep these records without any link to your account, and your email address is kept only as a one-way code (hash), not as the address itself. We keep them to prove your consent and to make sure we do not email you again after you unsubscribe.

Push notifications

We send reminders and updates as push notifications only if you allow notifications on your device. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

In-app messages

While you use the app we may show you messages about your progress, study tips and app features. They appear only inside the app and are based on the learning data described in section 1.
